Sajid Nadiadwala Biography
Sajid Nadiadwala was born on 18 February 1966. He is the grandson of filmmaker Abdul Karim (AK) Nadiadwala. Sajid is also the owner of ‘Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment’ and he has written and produced many films such as ‘Housefull’, ‘Baaghi’ and directed ‘Kick’ that earned him various debutant director awards. Sajid Nadiadwala always prefers working with the Khans and most of his closest collaborators are Salman Khan, Kabir Khan, Sajid Khan, Ahmed Khan, etc.
Sajid Nadiadwala Life
Sajid Nadiadwala’s grandfather AK Nadiadwala came to Bombay in 1955 from Nadiad—a city in Gujarat. His grandfather produced several films in Bombay, including Taj Mahal. Sajid used to love watching films since he was a child. His father also produced many films. Sajid completed his CA and law and later joined JP Dutta as an assistant director in the film ‘Ghulami’ when he was 21 years old.
Sajid began his career at a very young age as a production assistant in his uncle’s production house. He was just 25 when he started his production company called “Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment Pvt Ltd”. In 1992, he produced his first film ‘Zulm Ki Hukumat’ which starred Dharmendra and Govinda in lead roles.
Sajid brought together action stars Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty for the first time on the big screen with his next film, ‘Waqt Hamara Hai’, which was released in 1993.
On 10 May 1992, Nadiadwala tied the knot with actress Divya Bharti but unfortunately, Divya died on 5 April 1993 after allegedly falling from their fifth-storey window at their Tulsi residency. She was just 19 when she breathed her last.
After Divya’s death, Sajid met his second wife Warda Khan, a journalist. Khan eventually proposed to Nadiadwala and on 18 November 2000, the two got married and later the couple was blessed with two sons.

Mujhse Shaadi Karogi was released in 2004. It is a romantic- comedy Bollywood film which was directed by David Dhawan and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The film has Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra in the lead roles.
Housefull is a Bollywood comedy film series produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The first two films Housefull and Housefull 2 were directed by Sajid Khan. The music in the film is composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy in the first and Sajid-Wajid in the second. The third movie, ‘Housefull 3’ was directed by Sajid-Farhad and music was composed by Sharib-Toshi, Sohail Sen, Mika Singh, Tanishk Bagchi and Millind Gaba. The Housefull series stars Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh in lead roles. The film has Boman Irani and Chunkey Pandey in supporting roles.
Anjaana Anjaani was released in 2010. It is a romantic comedy-drama film which was directed by Siddharth Anand and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra as two suicidal strangers who meet and make a pact to commit suicide in 20 days on New Year’s Eve.
2 States was released in 2014. It is also a romantic-comedy film which was directed and written by Abhishek Varman, which was his directorial debut, as well. The film stars Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in lead roles and Ronit Roy, Amrita Singh, Revathi and Shiv Kumar Subramaniam in supporting roles.
Judwaa 2 was released in 2017. It is an action-comedy film directed by David Dhawan. A reboot of the 1997 film Judwaa, Judwaa 2 stars Varun Dhawan who played twins Raja and Prem opposite Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu.

Heropanti was released in 2014. It is a romantic action comedy film which was directed by Sabbir Khan and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The movie stars Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon in their Bollywood debuts, alongside Prakash Raj in a supporting role. It is a remake of the Telugu film ‘Parugu’.
