Deepal Shaw was born on 21st February 1986 at Shimla in Himachal Pradesh. Her father is born in Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh and her mother is from Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh. She has a younger brother. She was brought up in Mumbai. At the age of six, she started getting music training from her parents. She did her schooling from the Dadar Parsee Youths Assembly High School, in Dadar. She graduated with a BA in Psychology from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai.

Deepal Shaw Career as Model/Singer and Actor
Deepal started her career as a model by participating in the 2004 Miss India Beauty Pageant where she was reached till the final rounds among 29 other girls but did not grab any position. It made her feel bad as well as her family as they expected that she would make it. After this setback, she turned her focus into the Indian Entertainment Industry as a singer. She adopted the stage name ‘Baby Doll’ and released her first album Baby Doll in 2014. Upon the positive response for her first album, she released Baby Doll Chapter 2 featuring remixes of hit songs such as Kabhi Aar Kabhi Paar and Rangeela Re.
Most of her music were modernised version of old Hindi songs, with a blend of bass-heavy sound and hip hop elements. She performed on Saregama India Records and got her album CDs released through Saregama HMV. MTV India was instrumental in promoting her sexy and popular music videos.
Following a successful career in music, Deepal went on to start a career in acting in Bollywood. The film that she initially signed for was Hriday Shetty’s Daag – The Shades of Love though the project was later shelved. Her acting debut was in Mahesh Bhatt’s controversial crime thriller Kalyug along with Emraan Hashmi and fellow-newcomer Kunal Khemu. The character of a pornstar ‘Annie’ she portrayed in the film received appreciation from critics.
In an interview, Deepal said that she has confidence in herself and that reflects on her onscreen performance. She believes that she did a decent job in the role of a pornstar in Kalyug to convince the audience. She said that pornography is one of the biggest businesses in the world, that people thrive upon and runs into billions of dollars. Kalyug represents how dubious means and methods used by some people can destroy the lives of common people. When asked about her take on pornography she replied after a pause that a woman dancing in a wet sari can also be called pornography. It depends on how you see it.
Deepal always wished to make it big in the glam world, be it through acting singing, modelling or something else. She came from a family with a business background though her ultimate goal since a teenager was to become an actress.
Deepal Shaw appeared in a 2005 short film Geelee, written and directed by Bikas Ranjan Mishra. She played a role in Manish Gupta’s International, English-language film in 2009 Karma, Confessions and Holi which also starred Sushmita Sen, Randeep Hooda and Naomi Campbell. She also appeared as a cameo role of a reporter called ‘Naina Roy’ in Neeraj Pandey’s 2008 thriller film A Wednesday. Her other films are Kabeer Kaushik’s 2008 action thriller Chamku, Umesh Shukla’s 2009 comedy film Dhoondte Reh Jaaoge, Sunil Tiwari’s 2009 film Runway, Neeraj Pathak’s 2010 crime thriller Right Yaaa Wrong, Tigmanshu Dulia’s 2011 romantic thriller drama Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster and Sachin P. Karande’s 2011 film Vikalp.
