Commemorates the memory of Arun Jaitley, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu shall soon deliver on October 29 the first ArunJaitley Memorial lecture which is exactly instituted by the Delhi University, reported by the institute.
The university has basically instituted a lecture series in the memory of its eminent and extremely potential alumnus former finance minister Arun Jaitley,
Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu in his speech at Arun Jaitley Memorial lecture Institute addressed the gatherithering with warm and significant wordsd remembering the unravelling work of Late Arun Jaithley and also admired him as a person.
He told that It is nothing more than a quirk of the fate that we all have gathered today for the first ArunJaitely Memorial Lecture instituted by the Delhi University in the name of a very distinguished and eminent parliamentarian, a young, dynamic and established leader who passed away just a couple of months back.
On this very occasion, I am overwhelmed by the memories of my ultimate long association of about 45 years with late ShriArun Jaitely. He was basically a friend in need and friend in deed in the true sense of it. And such was the situation that we used to reach out to each other regularly every time it so warranted to benefit mutually from the counsel of each other on matters of polity, public policy and issues, or be it any other reason. The untimely passing away of Shri Jaitely left a deep void in my life and i feel grieved at the same and so is the case for our nation.
Shri Arun Jaitely was a multi-tasker and a multi-faceted genius which made him and many others like him rise to dizzy heights in a quick time. He left an indelible mark of his own on a wide range of issues that were basically concerning our nation’s public life which includes articulation of new ideological perspectives on major national issues and at the same time with clarity of thought and force of articulation, that were basically his hallmark.
He also stated that Shri Jaitely’s tryst with public life began as the President of the Delhi University Students Union and later at that time his fight against Emergency in 1975. Given his usual innate abilities, he was spotted by the political leadership of that time and subsequently became the youngest member of the National Executive of the Janata Party and since the year 1991 he was in the BJP’s National Executive and at the same time holding several important responsible positions in the Party and the Government.
