Warm Birthday Wishes to Kumar Vishwas: A prolific Hindi poet, politician and lecturer of the new era.
The most beloved and renowned Indian poet of Hindi literature, Kumar Vishwas celebrated his 50th birthday this year. We pray for his long and healthy life in future. He has strengthened the pre-eminence of Hindi language with his magic words in Hindi poetry across the globe. He has presented the Indian television shows Indian Idol and Zee TV’s talent hunt show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs as a guest judge. The love for Hindi poetry and the voice of his inner being forced him to give up engineering studies. The apathetic lyricist became an inspiration for the youths and Hindi society.
The natal day of Kumar Vishwas comes on 10th February 1970. He hails from a lower-middle-class family in the Pilkhuwa town, Uttar Pradesh. He did his early education from Lala Ganga Sahay School and went to Rajputana Regiment Inter College. He was born to his father Chandra Pal Sharma who was a lecturer at R.S.S. Degree College in Pilkhuwa and to his mother Rama Sharma who was a homemaker. He was the youngest child among his five siblings. He has three brothers and one sister. Posterior to his Bachelors, his father enrolled him into Motilal Nehru Regional Engineering College which did not interest Vishwas. Later, he switched to Hindi literature and subsequently did PhD. He was bestowed with a Gold medal after completing graduation in Hindi literature.
Kumar Vishwas embarked his career as a lecturer in Rajasthan in the year 1994. Later, he was appointed as Hindi literature professor in Lala Lajpat Rai College. In 2012, he worked voluntarily with newly-formed AAP. He is one of the hustling poets amongst the present-day poets, composes poems and intones in various magazines.
To preserve his integrity offbeat from his caste, he changed his name from Viswas Kumar Sharma to Kumar Vishwas.

Kumar Vishwas Political Career
Vishwas is an active member of AAP (Aam Aadmi Party) and a former member of its National Executive. Kumar Vishwas is familiar to Arvind Kejriwal since 2005. He participated in India Against Corruption exercise led by Anna Hazare.
In the 2014 Lok Sabha Election, AAP fielded Kumar Vishwas from Amethi procuring 25,000 votes but was unable to succeed reigning Rahul Gandhi.
Vishwas was sequestered in AAP but was not prepared to exit. Due to the non-support of leadership, Vishwas, party in-charge for Rajasthan had cancelled all the rallies. His monarch had turned a deaf ear to his policies for an electoral campaign in Rajasthan. Nobody from the leadership responded to the Vishwas’s request of opening a bank account to deposit donation funds for the elections and for MLAs to run rallies in the state.
The antagonism among poet turned politician Vishwas and the Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was escalated after Vishwas criticised the AAP government in Delhi over corruption ahead of the MCD elections in 2017 in a video. The issue was aggravated when the party annihilated in the elections.
Posterior to the allegation of Okhla MLA Amanatullah Khan calling him BJP-RSS agent, Vishwas had almost exited the party. Later, he was convinced to stay in the party after the elimination of Khan. However, this process of attempting a takeover by Vishwas had left no chance for settlement among the AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal and him.
Due to his rhetorical skills, the party did not consider Vishwas for Rajya Sabha seat.
He brought several controversial remarks which drew criticism for him. Subsequently, AAP triumphed 67 out of 70 assembly seats.
Kumar Vishwas’s Life Activities and Achievements
Kumar Vishwas has received various encomiums in the journey of his poetic life. In 1994, he was conferred Kavya Kumar award by Dr Kunwar Baichain Kavya Samman Avam Puruskaar Samiti. He was also bestowed with Dr Suman Alankarna award by Sahitya Bharti in Unnao in 2004. Hindu-Urdu Award Committee has honoured him with the Sahitya Shree Award in the year 2006. In 2010, he was again conferred the Dr Urmilesh ‘Geet Shree’ Samman by Dr Urmilesh Jan Chetna Samiti in Badaun.
The University Anthem or ‘Kul-Geet’ of the Chaudhary Charan Singh University has been written by Vishwas. He has always kept himself engaged in several social causes. He keeps performing in ‘Kavi Sammelans’ which are held all over India and across the world in countries like Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Muscat, Singapore, Japan, Nepal and USA. He regularly enacts at various corporate celebrations across India and overseas.
