Forbes India released the annual list of top 100 Celebrity 2019 on 20th December 2019. For the very first time a player has topped the Forbes Top 100 Celebrity 2019 list. Previously this position was occupied by Bollywood giants. The top 100 personalities were selected on the basis of their estimated earnings and fame on print and social media. Virat Kohli, Captain of Indian Cricket team stands tall in the list with annual earnings of over Rs 250 crore.
Forbes List 2019 Overview:
Every year Forbes magazine brings out a list Top 100 richest in the World and India as well which values individuals’ assets including stakes in public and private companies, real estates and cash. The contributors also take into account estimates of debt and consult an array of outside experts in various fields.
The Forbes India 2019 released its annual list and Virat Kohli proudly marched up to the pole position in the list replacing the Khans and other Bollywood celebrities for the first time in eight years since the Forbes India Celebrity 100 list have been launched. Kohli earned earnings of over ₹252.72 crore through the match fees, the BCCI central contract, brand endorsements and sponsored Instagram post.
There are other cricketers who made it to the top 50 like former Captain of Indian Cricket Team Mahendra Singh Dhoni occupied the fifth spot, Sachin Tendulkar was placed at number 9 slot, Rohit Sharma occupied the number 11 position and Shikhar Dhawan occupied the 35th spot. There are no sportspersons in the top 50 of the Forbes Celebrity 100 list.
Ace badminton player PV Sindhu made it to the list at 63rd position while Olympic medalist Saina Nehwal occupies the 81st spot in the list. Sunil Chhetri, the captain of the Indian football team occupied 85th position. Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur from the women cricket team also made it to the list with 90 and 91 rankings. Like every year the Forbes Celebrity 100 list was dominated by Bollywood actors, directors and music composers.
