A commended Bollywood actor and producer Sanjay Suri turned 49 this year.
Sanjay Suri Biography
Sanjay was born in the house of Virinder Suri and Urvashi Suri in Srinagar, Kashmir on 6th April 1971. He has one elder brother named Raj Suri and an elder sister named Vandana Suri. He spent 19 years of his life in the Kashmir valley, hence he eventuated as Green Panther. He panned out his schooling from Burn Hall School, Srinagar. He did Bachelor’s in Commerce with Honours. While studying in the school, he was a squash champion and represented his school on state levels also. In 1990, his father was assassinated by the goons. Thereafter they were compelled to stay in a refugee camp in Jammu and then the family moved to Delhi.

Before starting his career in Bollywood, Sanjay belled the cat in the modelling field and worked for some prominent brands and companies in the advertisement world including Philishave, Gillette, Fiat Uno, Matiz Daewoo, Hero Honda, Sprint Collect, Vimal Suitings, Donear Suitings, Times of India, Wills Cigarettes, Nilkamal Furniture, Ponds, Nescafe and more. Stardust Annual 1994 portrayed him on its cover page with actress Pooja Bhatt.
In 1999, Sanjay sparked his acting career by performing the role of Bhargav in the Hindi movie ‘Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi’ alongside Rinke Khanna and Dino Morea. Even though the movie was misfired, Sanjay Suri came into limelight and signed several movies including Daman: A Victim of Marital Violence in 2001, Filhaal…….and the musical Dil Vil Pyar Vyar in 2002. Dil Vil Pyar Vyar did a good job on the silver screen. His 2003 release Pinjar co-starring Urmila Matondkar received babbling reviews. But later in the same year, his other movie Jhankaar Beats featuring Rahul Bose, Juhi Chawla, Rinke Khanna, Riya Sen and Shayan Munshi in principal roles made a splash at the box office and his character was also greatly applauded. Gradually, he was offered several roles in the movies. His movies could not win the heart of critics but his performance was constantly appreciated.
The year 2005 witnessed his flick movie titled ‘My Brother Nikhil’ and the critics commended for his performance. Suri portrayed as a homosexual who happens to be HIV positive and performed alongside Juhi Chawla again. The movie gained success only in the Mumbai region. Later in 2008, he performed in Onir directorial Sorry Bhai alongside Chitragandha Singh and Sharman Joshi.
Suri panned out as a producer and is a co-founder of the film production company ‘Anticlock Films’. He directed and co-produced his debut movie ‘I Am’ with Onir under the banner of Anti clock Films in 2011 which was entwined of four stories. In this movie, a new mechanism of production named crowdsourcing was introduced in the Bollywood industry which has never been even thought of.
Sanjay’s other notable projects encompass Chalo Ishq Ladaye (2002), Dhoop (2003), Shaadi Ka Laddoo (2004), Plan (2004), My Bollywood Bride (2006), Bas Ek Pal (2006), Say Salaam India (2007), Heroine (2012), Nil Battey Sannata (2016), Hindi Medium (2017) and so on.
Off-late, he was also seen in some web series named Inside Edge, Dev DD, Mentalhood and Bhram.

- In 2011, Sanjay Suri was bestowed with the National Award for Best Producer for the movie ‘I Am’.
- The actor Sanjay Suri earned the Triangle Media Groups David Flint Honorary Award for Promoting Human Rights.
- He made his appearance in several International Co-Production markets and labs. CNC chose him to attend the Producers Network at the Marche Du Film Festival de Cannes 2012 & 2013.
- Suri acted as a Jury member at the MAMI (Mumbai Academy of Moving Images) in 2012 and the esteemed Dubai International Film Festival in the 2013 feature category in the ‘Muhr Arab’ Section.
- Sanjay Suri was conferred by Sandeep Marwah with the membership of International Film And Television Club of Asian Academy of Film & Television.
- His movie ‘I Am’ acquired the awards including the Best in Asian Cinema Award at the International Kerala Film Festival in 2010, The Best Film at Florence ‘River to River’ festival and the Audience Choice Award in 2010.

Well, if we talk about Sanjay’s personal affairs, he exchanged his nuptial vows with Ambika on 21st November 2001. The couple is blessed with two children.
Apart from his love for Bollywood, his interests include sports, travelling, photography, and philosophy. He is very fond of coffee and dark chocolates.
