Palak Muchhal Biography

Palak Muchhal was born on 30 March 1992 in a Maheshwari Marwari family in Indore, Madhya Pradesh to Amita Muchhal and Rajkumar Muchhal. Her father Rajkumar works for a private firm. Her younger brother, Palash Muchhal is a music composer in the Bollywood. Palak attended Shree Agrasen Vidyalaya Sneh Nagar School in Indore. She is a graduate in Commerce and also has a PhD in International Business.

Palak started her career by releasing independent music albums from her childhood days. Her first album was in 2001, at her age of 9, Child For Children, released by Tips Music, followed by her second album Palken in 2003. Later she came out with albums like Aao Tumhe Chand Per Le Jaaye, Beti Hu Mahakal Ki, and Dil Ke Liye. In 2011, her Jai Jai Dev Ganesh album was released by T-Series. In 2006, Palak moved to Mumbai in search of opportunities for singing in the Bollywood films. She made her Bollywood debut by singing a song in the 2011 film Damadamm!, that became popular. She sang her second song, “Pyaar Ke Silsile”, followed by the song “Pyaar Ke Silsile” for 2011 film Na Jaane Kabse.

The first notable award Palak received was the Silver Medal for National Child Award For Exceptional Achievement (Rashtriya Bal Puraskar). Palak was a judge of &TV’s musical reality show The Voice India Kids 2017 with Himesh Reshammiya, Shantanu Mukerjee and Papon. At the age of 21, she made her entry in the Guinness Book of World Records and Limca Book of World Records for her achievements in social work.

Palak Muchhal Personal Life

Palak was concerned about doing charity activities from her younger age. At the age of 7, she sang songs in a fundraising programme in her home town for supporting families of deceased Indian soldiers who died in the Kargil War of 1999. Her efforts resulted in the programme with broad media coverage and she raised ₹25,000. In the same year, she also sang to raise funds for victims of the Odisha cyclone. Palak along with her brother Palash Muchhal conducted musical shows across India and abroad to raise funds for the medical treatment of unprivileged children with heart diseases. By the end of 2016, they have saved 1333 children through the fund raised from charity shows.

Palak’s favourite musicians are Lata Mangeshkar, Shreya Ghoshal, Pritam, Amaal Mallik, Mithoon, A.R. Rahman and Amit Trivedi. One of her favourite hobbies are travelling and her favourite travel destination is Dubai.
