The World Economic Forum is a non-profit establishment incorporated in 1971 which is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. Klaus Schwab, a business professor at the University of Geneva founded this forum with a vision to work on international combats. It is self-reliant, unbiased and does not have any specific concern. This international organisation has put in efforts in global public interest to illustrate industrialism and maintain the highest standards of governance.

The forum has been created with the vision of remodelling the state of the world by inviting business, academic, political and other leaders of the civilisation to embody global, regional and industry schedules.

50th Yearly conference of WEF is slated to take place from 21st January and will conclude on 24th January in DAVOS, an Apline key resort in Graubunden, in the eastern Alps region of Switzerland. The conference invites nearly 3,000 business leaders, international political leaders, economists, celebrities and journalists for up to five days to debate global issues, across 500 public and private discussions.

Nearly six to eight regional conferences are assembled by the organisation every year at locations across Africa, East Asia, Latin America and India. It also holds two annual meetings— one in China and the other one in United Arab Emirates. Luminaries from all stakeholder groups like business, government and civil society across the world get a stage to participate in multiple projects and drives.

The World Economic Forum 2020 has released a new Davos Manifesto with a set of ethical principles in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution to mark its 50th birthday. This manifesto targets the organisations for several causes like paying a fair share of taxes, upholding human rights throughout their supply chains, showing zero tolerance for corruption and encouraging for a competitive level playing field. The DAVOS manifesto is required for a better type of capitalism as it offers the best excuse to handle today’s environment and social challenges.
