Kangana Ranaut Biography
A stellar Indian actress, director and writer, Kangana Ranaut works principally for Bollywood. She is considered as one of the lucrative actresses in the Hindi cinema and has garnered numerous accolades for her hard work. She has been pitched into a One Take Actor in the Bollywood industry.
Kangana comes from a small town named Bhambla near Manali in Himachal Pradesh and is the daughter of Amardeep Ranaut who is a businessman and contractor and Asha Ranaut who is a school teacher. Her red-letter day falls on 23rd March 1987. She went to DAV Model School, Chandigarh for her schooling where she opted Science as her major subject. During her school days, she contested in several debates, declamations and beauty contests. She was predetermined to be a doctor on the emphasis of her parents but reassessed herself after facing a setback in Chemistry unit test when she was in grade 12. She was a bright student and obtained 90 per cent marks in her intermediate. Even though she was appearing for the All India Pre Medical Test, she did not write for the exam. Post schooling, she went to Science College in Shimla. Her mother wanted her to get married at the age of 16 but she denied instantaneously. When she disclosed her intentions to enter into the glamorous world, she was extruded from her house and her father refused to give her financial aid in her quest. As she wanted her own space and freedom, she moved to Delhi to look for work in the desired field.
In the beginning, she learnt music and later in 2003, she undertook few modelling assignments for Elite Modelling Agency in Delhi. Later, she was employed as a theatre actor with the Asmita Theatre Group and did several plays under the guidance of theatre director Arvind Gaur. She performed workshops for him at India Habitat Centre. She enlisted herself with Asha Chandra’s Acting School in Mumbai and polished herself in acting skills. She is also a skilled Kathak dancer.
Kangana belongs to a male dominant Rajput family in which her grandfather was an IAS officer and her great-grandfather Sarju Singh Ranaut was a Member of the Legislative Assembly. She was leading a very simple and contented life at their ancestral mansion in Bhambla. She has one elder sister named Rangoli Ranaut and a younger brother named Akshit Ranaut.
