Congress Leader MP Rahul Gandhi is slated to pay a four-day visit to his parliamentary electorate, Wayanad, Kerala on December 4th and would come back to Delhi on December 8th. He is packed with his 15 predetermined public receptions across the constituency in his four-day tour of Wayanad.
Wayanad which is the nerve centre of the town of Kalpetta, is located in the north-east region of Kerala state in India. This vicinity is positioned high on the Western Ghats with altitudes ranging from 700 to 2100 meters.
Congress Lok Sabha MP Rahul Gandhi would arrive at Kozhikode on Wednesday evening and his official programme would start on December 5th. He would begin his visit at 10 a.m. on Thursday morning with the launch of the Indira Gandhi memorial bus stand-cum-shopping complex at Edakkara in Malappuram. He would induct a slew of development projects such as new block at GHSS Karuvarakindu at Wandoor, a project in Kodenchery Grama Panchayat at Mariyam Auditorium, Thiruvambadi and cultural conference at Mahadeva Temple, Kodenchery. Rahul Gandhi would make an appearance at UDH Assembly conference at Nilambur, Edakkara and Thiruvambadi at 11 a.m., 12 p.m. and 4.20 p.m. respectively.
He would pay a visit to the Nilambur Assembly conference at OCK auditorium, Wandoor Assembly conference at Eriyad Auditorium, Love Sahre, a school for special children and Thiruvambadi Assembly conference at Shangrilla Auditorium, Mukkam on December 5th.
He would also meet the family of Kerala snakebite victim Shehla Sherin, a school student at Sulthan Bathery at 11:30 a.m. on December 6th who passed away last month in Wayanad. She was bitten by a snake in her classroom in Kerala. He would also pay a visit to Sarvajana HSS where the snakebite took place, at 12.10 p.m. He would also address a UDF Assembly conference at the Chandragiri auditorium, Kalpetta at 3 p.m. and attend Late M I Shanavas remembrance meeting at Cholayil auditorium, Meenangadi. The launch of the new block of the taluk hospital at Vythiri would take place at 4 p.m. where Rahul Gandhi would address a conference with 400 disaster management volunteers at 10 a.m. on December 7th. The same day, he would also inaugurate the newly constructed MSDP block at Vakeri High School. He is scheduled to hold the UDF Assembly conferences at Sulthan Bathery and Vellamunda at 11 a.m. and 1.30 p.m. Later, his departure for his home town Delhi is scheduled at 6.20 p.m.
Rahul Gandhi Wayanad Visit Agenda
Wayanad Congress MP Rahul Gandhi will pay a four-day visit to his Lok Sabha electorate, Wayanad from December 4th to meet the locals and figureheads of the parties.
Earlier in August 2019, the Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi went on a three-day visit to his flood-hit district, Kerala to extend helping hand to the flood victims. The state was distressed by torrential rains, floods and landslides. Rahul Gandhi had assured various calamity affected victims for full support and interacted with the local authorities as well. He addressed the residents in Kerala and assured the affected people that the government will provide them with all the possible aid required in their bad times.
He had given surety to the people of his constituency for bringing Wayanad to the world tourism map. He put light on certain complicated matters of Wayanad like the ban on night travel, man-animal conflict and lack of sufficient educational facilities.
Wayanad is one of the regions that is worst affected by rains, landslides and floods. He marked his presence in the state by extending the support offered by Congress. According to him, most of the families had been shifted to relief camps during the natural calamities and were provided with the necessities on time.
While leaving from his constituency, he expressed his honour and was thankful to the people of Wayanad who displayed bravery and dignity when Kerala was facing the wrath of nature.
In the recently occurred Lok Sabha elections, Gandhi triumphed from Wayanad by a margin of over 4.31 lakh polls, which was a state record, though he lost Congress stronghold Amethi in Uttar Pradesh to BJP’s Smriti Irani.
